Welcome to My Safe Space
My Safe Space is a secure environment, hosted by me, Brett Kiellerop. I specialise in individual and family therapy for sexual identity and gender identity issues, with a strong focus on maintaining or re-establishing the family unit.
If you are a youth struggling with your sexual identity and/or gender identity, I am here to listen. Anything you say to me is completely confidential. If you are worried about the reaction of your friends and family, I am here to help. If your relationship with your family is strained, I will try to ease the tension.
Parents… if you are struggling to cope with – or understand – your child, please know that you are welcome to contact me. I will help you open the lines of communication with your child and assist you with expressing your concerns, in a manner that will also assure your child they are loved.
The format of the talks is totally up to you. They can be totally informal and individual sessions where you rant and vent in a setting that is totally removed from your home environment, or the talks can be more formal meetings between family members, with me acting as a mediator.
Please note that this service is available from 9am to 5pm every day, and is not a crisis line. If you are in crisis, for example being evicted from the family home, please contact a crisis service such as Kids Helpline or Lifeline – their websites and phone numbers are on the right of this page. If your situation is an emergency or you are the victim of a crime, such as assault, please call 000.
So contact me if you need to chat. You can call or send me an SMS on 0416 622 386, skype me at mysafespace whenever I am online, or send me an email via the contact form to the right. It’s discreet, confidential, and free.
